Veronica + Willie: Colorful Moroccan Wedding

Veronica and Willie were another out of state couple, and they wanted to leave all the planning and design to us. We did consult Veronica on the design along the way, but a lot was a wedding-day surprise. She came to us wanting just one thing: an all-white wedding ceremony with a major twist and turn for the reception: a bold and bright Moroccan theme. We began the Moroccan theme inspiration with this story board:

Everything took place at the same venue – the 9^th Street Abbey. Guests arrived and enjoyed the ceremony, then went outside to cocktail in the garden while we flipped the space from an ethereal white wedding to a colorful Moroccan palace. Guests were given a hint of the theme with the wedding invitation – which was made with a custom red laser-cut belly band, lots of colors, and a beautiful jewel created by Papercut Invites.

The same theme from the invitation was used throughout for the rest of the stationery on wedding day. For the reception transformation, we customized a paisley gobo for the wall with Exclusive Events because Willie loved himself some paisley (he also wore it in his tie).

We selected delicate and beautiful gold netted overlays from Cloth Connection for the head table which we set on top of a luscious red satin, used on all the tables. We capped the chairs with the same gold netted sequin and donned the tables with handfuls of vases and lanterns of various colors. Flowers from The Crimson Petal were kept simple, yet you can see how the centerpieces still made a statement. We created three different seating areas on the floor with low coffee tables and giant throw pillows. The effect was daring and romantic and guests were wowed when they returned to such an incredible transformation!
