Nicole and Shannon are our sweet couple from Texas. Actually, they are both from neighboring towns in Illinois but somehow fate brought them together in Dallas, where they are now building a brand new house. They wanted their local St. Louis wedding to represent both of their personalities and show their friends and family a good time. Nicole is very chic with a bit of refined southern flare while Shannon has a modern but opulent style.
Can we talk about this manicure for a minute? Her nails were so fun and festive.
The entire wedding was held at the 9th Street Abbey with the ceremony being soft and candle-it, and the reception flipping to a more dramatic design.
We could just about put a photo of Tiffany running away from a flower girl in every post. Here she goes after having encouraged this little one to go down the aisle. Even with a couple rehearsals, they sometimes tend to want to go AROUND the aisle… we’re not sure why… but we’re here to guide, folks.
Stopping and talking to all the guests. “Do you see my pretty thing, here? It’s pretty. How are you today?”
The girls wore a silver-gray color which really let the flowers from Belli Fiori pop! The guys wore all black with silver-striped ties. Ushers had the same tie but in a pink stripe.
For the reception, we created an amazing gobo with Exclusive Events of an exploded peony that projected against a wall that we washed in different tones of pinks. We had the ceiling flooded with purples and blues to look like a sky near sunset. Nicole said she wanted sparkle but only a little. We found the perfect linen from Nuage that had a bit of sparkle but was not overwhelming. Nicole also loved soft pink and black which we tastefully incorporated into the wedding being careful to not make the wedding too colorful. For the masculine balance we added touches of Shannon’s love for Cardinals baseball here and there..
The beautiful flowers provided by Belli Fiori highlighted Nicole’s favorite pinks, and the black candelabra stands were so chic.
The cakes from La Patisserie Chouquette were a huge hit with the guests. The wedding cake was designed with their linen inspiration on one tier. The second cake, the groom’s cake, was designed with a vintage Cardinals baseball theme. Amazing, right?
For a late night snack, we kept the baseball theme going and dressed the catering staff as old-school Cardinals baseball food vendors (but kept in the wedding color theme) with custom made food vending boxes to pass out baseball themed food such as mini popcorn, mini hotdogs with various toppings, mini cotton candy on lollipop sticks (in Nicole’s pink, of course!), and mini twisted soft pretzels with mustard. The caterers entered the reception while Kim Massie played “Take Me out to the Ballgame”. It was so much fun!
And as always, the photo booth from Fish Eye Fun was a blast and kept guests busy all night long!
