Gabriella turned One, so her very first birthday party was kind of amazing.

Luckily there are some fantastic photos from Rita with Halo Photography, so little G can look back and realize how good she had it.  Because we’re pretty sure she isn’t actually going to remember how awesome it was. Rita did a great job with the photos for us, like we knew she would, because she does amazing baby portraits.  Seriously.  Go see for yourself.

Onward.  Here are some pics from the Candy Land birthday:

Yes.  A Dots runner.  You remember Dots, and eating half candy/half paper. Mmm!

We made this custom candy banner of Gabriella’s name using different candies for each letter.  And boy was it heavy..

The candy path reappears on the red velvet cake from Whipt Cream!

A very happy Ring Pop-wearing guest.

And here’s the birthday girl in all her “this is all for ME!?” glory.

Note the outfit that says she is shy and hates all the attention (she is not sitting in a bunch of extra tulle – that is a tutu!)  Adorable, yes??

where did you get the character cut outs and what did you use to make the candy walk way?

  • Hi Ashley, the character cut outs were purchased online but honestly we can’t locate the source anymore – sorry about that!! The candy walk way was made from foam squares that you can purchase at Michaels. They come in sheets that you can use to cut out shapes, etc, but we just kept them whole and double-side-taped them to the floor for safety. Thank you!

  • Lisa

where did you get the sqaure stripes & dots plates?

  • Hi Lisa, plates were from Target! So easy!

    Thank you for stopping in.

  • Angela

Gorgeous party! What did you use under the candy buttons? Looks like a glitter type ribbon? Thank you!!

  • kisha

So nice…where did you get the tutu?

  • Angela – YES we just used a translucent purple glitter ribbon the widest we could find and used it in combination with the dots as a table runner.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Kisha – It’s from Brea’s Baby Boutique (online) – called the Lucky Gabi Pink Rainbow Pettiskirt.

    Thanks!

  • April

So cute! Where did you find the small pots for the lollipops and about what width do you think the ribbon is? Thx!

  • Hi April,
Sorry, I misspoke earlier! The “ribbon” is spools of glitter tulle purchased at Michaels. I don’t recall the exact width but it is easy to find. The pots were purchased at Target in the dollar aisle!! Just happened to be a lucky find at the time. :)

    Thanks!

  • Allison

    Hello,
Would someone please give the directions to make these things. Thank you much!!

  • danielle

Hi, awesome party! I’m doing the same and wondered did you use actual dots candy as a runner? if so how did you get it to stay down

  • Hi Danielle

Yes we just used the real dots candy that come on the paper roll, and used it like a table runner! Thanks
